Would you like to lower your utility bills? If so, then Austin Energy, Texas Gas, and Uncle Sam would like to help. The government is giving millions of dollars in the form of residential energy efficiency rebates to local utilities in an effort to reduce national energy consumption. Locally, Austin Energy has set a goal to reduce its CO2 emissions 20% by the year 2020. One way they hope to accomplish this goal is by helping you pay to make energy efficient upgrades to your home. Here’s how it works.

What the Auditor Does

Rebates offered by Austin Energy and Texas Gas can cover 30%-50% of the cost of energy efficient upgrades. Look at these actual customer savings!

AES is a participating contractor for the Home Performance with Energy Star Program. As a participating company, it is our responsibility to file all the necessary paperwork with Austin Energy and Texas Gas. All you have to do is be present for the pre and final inspection with an Austin Energy inspector.

Tax Credit Information

The Federal Government is offering a 30% (up to $1500) tax credit for adding attic insulation and replacing old windows with Low-E windows. AES will provide you with the manufacturer’s certification form for you to provide to your tax consultant. For additional information about the federal tax credit for home energy efficiency improvements, please consult your tax advisor or accountant.
